The SEI Futures Fund was established by SEI in 2013 as the successor to the SEI Endowment Fund, which SEI established in 2004. The purpose of the Fund is to invest in the future of our profession by funding a broad range of activities which advance the art, science and practice of structural engineering. Because these activities fall outside the annual operating budget of SEI, without ongoing financial support from the Fund these activities might not be possible.
The Fund is managed by a five-person Board of Directors (the "Board"). The Board has established four strategic areas for what we fund:
- Promote student interest in structural engineering
- Support younger member involvement in SEI
- Provide opportunities for professional development
- Invest in the future of the structural engineering profession
