Dan Lavrich attended the United States Air Force Academy and received a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. He is the principal of Lavrich & Associates, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida and Georgia. Over a period of over 37 years he has personally been responsible for the Structural Engineering design of several thousand buildings and structures consisting of single and multi-family residential buildings, office buildings, shopping centers, industrial buildings, warehouses, schools, auditoriums, restaurants, piers, swimming pools, prisons, sports arenas, and the related Civil Engineering site work and facilities for many of the projects. Dan is a Fellow Member of ASCE, Charter Member of SEI, Past Member and Vice President of the SEI Board of Governors, Chair of the SEI BPAD EXCOM, Past Chair of the BPAD Business Practice Committee, and Member of the State of Florida Building Code Structural Technical Advisory Committee. In addition to his design and consulting practice he has actively participated in Building Code Development and Enforcement in the State of Florida for more than 20 years.
