Dennis Tewksbury is retired after a 40 year career in Civil / Structural Engineering. He owned his own firm for 20 years and worked for regional and national consulting engineering firms for to 20 years. During his career he managed numerous projects; some involving forensic engineering and others developing non-traditional project delivery systems. He is a graduate from New England College with a BSCE degree. Since 2004, he has been a FEMA Disaster Reservist. He has been Chair of numerous ASCE Board Committees, ASCE District 2 Director, and ASCE Region 1 Vice President. He was the Chair of the multi-structural Organization Task Committee to study the feasibility of establishing the Structural Engineering Institute for purposes of combining the strengths of various structural organizations with the same goals and activities to utilize personnel and financial resources to provide more efficient and effective member services. He was the first President of the SEI for 3 years.
