Greg Soules is a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer for the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (CB&I) in The Woodlands, Texas. Responsibilities include the supervision of design engineers, management of the engineering for large projects worldwide, and development of CB&I Engineering Standards on the application of wind loads, seismic loads, and building codes to tank and vessel designs. He serves as the Vice Chair of the ASCE 7 Main Committee and chairs the Non-building Structures Task Committee of the ASCE 7 Seismic Subcommittee. Mr. Soules earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1979, an MBA from the University of Houston in 1991, and an M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2009. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a Licensed Professional Engineer in 21 jurisdictions, a Licensed Structural Engineer in 6 states, and is certified in the practice of structural engineering by the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB). Mr. Soules was named a Distinguished Engineer by Texas Tech University in 2009 and was presented the Stephen D. Bechtel, Jr. Energy Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2010. He joined CB&I in 1980.
