Mary Goodson started her career as a computer programmer and numerical analyst back in the days when computer analysis was just starting out. Being impatient, she wanted to get involved with "real engineering" and embarked on a quite different path - design engineering. She began her career with CH2M HILL in 1991, ostensibly to provide siemic retrofit expertise follwoing the 1989 Loma Preita Earthquake but has ended up working of structures as diverse as a European style AMTRAK station in Oakland California to a tank repair facility in Taji, Iraq. Most recently, she has spent the past 4 years as te owner's Deputy Design Manager for the Panama Canal Expansion Program.
