The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Water Works Association (AWWA), and Water Environment Federation (WEF) teamed up in 2003 to produce guidance documents for physical security of water and wastewater utilities under the Water Infrastructure Security Enhancements (WISE) project. The project was funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). As a result of this partnership, the following key documents were produced and made publically available:

6. Recovery Practices Primer for Natural Disasters (September 2008) (Not available in hard copy format)
