Genaro Mejia, Committee Chair
Genaro Mejia was selected as a Board of Governor for the T&DI Board in October 2011 as the first young member to serve. His initial term was for one year and was recently extended for another year through September 2013. He is passionate about transportation, especially high speed rail, he enjoys the challenging aspects of this type of project and looks forward to seeing high speed rail come to fruition in the United States. He is currently a member of the ASCE Rail Committee and participates in the Rail/Public Transit Council conference calls. Antonio Massidda, Vice Chair
Antonio has a M.S. in Civil Engineering (2003) and a M.S. in Aviation Science (2005). Currently, he works at The University of Texas at Arlington on aviation transportation research projects, and cooperates with the Federal Aviation Administration. A native of Italy, he worked as an Assistant Project Manager on the Italian High Speed Rail project. His prior work experience includes highway design, cost estimation and control, and safety. Antonio joined the T&DI community in 2010, when he submitted a paper to the first congress. After that, he was appointed on the Airport Planning and Operations Committee, and he is also a member of the aviation council of the Institute, as the younger member committee representative. Antonio is very active on the Transportation Research Board, in which he serves as a member and communications coordinator of the Aircraft/Airport Compatibility Committee (AV070) and as a member of the TRB Standing Committee Communications Coordinator Council. Finally, Antonio holds a commercial pilot license with instrument and multiengine ratings. |

Brett Schock
Brett is a project engineer at Michael Baker Jr., Inc. living in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area with experience in roadway, utility, drainage, structural and airport engineering, as well as experience with transportation and airport planning, environmental documentation and the NEPA process. Brett's project experience includes a range of projects; a 1500' cable-stayed bridge structural design, planning for a $4 billion test Maglev rail project in Pittsburgh, PA, numerous runway extensions at large commercial airports, design of new multi-lane highway projects, water utility relocations for design-build, and EIS document preparation for projects including a 35 mile highway expansion. Brett received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from his hometown University of Pittsburgh in 2003, and a Masters of Engineering Management from Robert Morris University in 2005. Brett is a Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners. Brett lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife and their 18-month old son. Brett plays ice hockey and skis, loves to watch the NHL and international soccer, travels the country to ride roller coasters, loves to cook for his family and friends, has run a half-marathon, and dabbles in quantum and astrophysics (in his "down time"). |

Gareth Young
As an inaugural member of the T&DI CYM, Gareth has been a member of the Committee since 2012. Initially selected for a one year term, his term was recently extended for an additional year. Gareth has also recently served on the T&DI Development Task Force and represents the CYM on the T&DI Development Council. With over eight years of experience in design and project management experience, Gareth is a recognized expert in Low Impact Development .
