DONALD G. KINNEY, P.E., M.ASCE

REGION 8 GOVERNOR OFFICIAL NOMINEE

Vision Statement

We who have stepped up to leadership in ASCE have done so because civil engineering is our calling. As individuals, our commitment is to continually improve ourselves throughout our careers, and to always improve the quality of our engineered deliverables. As leaders, we want the same for our members and we try to find ways to assist. I aspire to share in that tradition, and want to provide that kind of service.

My interest in serving as a Governor is strongly linked to my commitment to ASCE's mission. Throughout its history, ASCE has sought to advance the profession of civil engineering. This has taken many forms, including advancement of practice codes and standards, technical research, member and public outreach, including support of STEM education. In recent years, through the Sustainability, Infrastructure and Raise the Bar initiatives, ASCE has applied its mission to matters of critical importance to society, establishing civil engineering as leaders in shaping the future. I find this application both visionary and inspirational; it's what has motivated me to deepen my involvement. I want to help with this and look forward to providing service to our membership as Governor.
