Design of Masonry Shear Walls
The seminar provides a broad overview of the design methods for modern masonry shear walls. Much of the time is devoted to explanation and illustration of the code provisions forshear and flexure, including two step-by-step design examples. In addition, attendees will learn how to incorporate shear walls into steel-framed buildings, provide a complete load path from roof orfloor diaphragms to shear walls, and deal with non-structural masonry elements. The seminar is co-sponsored by ASCE's Structural Engineering Institute and ASCE Continuing Education.
