The first part of this two-part series provides information regarding critical traffic data needed to work on signal timing optimization, and some common software available to simplify the analysis process. Several minor tricks in data collection can make a huge difference in the quality of the resulting signal timing. Based on years of experience, this seminar will focus on how to tailor and fine-tune the signal timing outputs of software into signal synchronization plans that work, as perceived by the motoring public. It is not enough to produce theoretic improvements that the public cannot see. This seminar will focus on optimizing arterial progression resulting in one green light after another in both directions of an arterial roadway.
