Designing with Engineered Lumber
The seminar provides an overview of various engineered lumber products available today and points out where each can be appropriately used. The presentation explores the available choices and shows how to navigate the reference material. The instructor guides the participants through a number of design examples illustrating the use and selection of the common systems. The discussion includes complex and somewhat controversial issues of immediate and long-term deflections and member stability. The seminar is co-sponsored by ASCE's Structural Engineering Institute and ASCE Continuing Education.
