Improving Pedestrian Crossing Safety at Uncontrolled Locations
In 2003, the Transportation Research Board initiated a TCRP/NCHRP Project to research issues relating to pedestrian safety at uncontrolled locations. The presenter was part of the research team that ultimately prepared a report entitled, "Improving Pedestrian Safety at Unsignalized Crossings". Appendices B through O, which contain a lot of the backup technical information obtained from the research and other sources, was prepared as a stand alone document. This presentation will provide a comprehensive discussion of the findings of this research project. The seminar is co-sponsored by ASCE's Transportation & Development Institute and ASCE Continuing Education.
