The recommended locations and spacing of control and expansion joints in brick and concrete masonry are also examined. A discussion of lintel design for large masonry openings, where both architectural and structural requirements must be satisfied, follows. The seminar is co-sponsored by ASCE's Structural Engineering Institute and ASCE Continuing Education.
