Vision statement

As an experienced Region 10 Governor elected to serve two terms (2015-2021), and who has led the development of sustainable infrastructure to protect human health and the environment, I have a global vision for the future of civil engineering that aligns with ASCE’s mission to build better quality of life by advancing technology, developing global leaders, and ensuring all infrastructure is safe, resilient, and sustainable.

As Director of Region 10, I will lead strategic change and strengthen ASCE as a global society. I will promote international partnerships, facilitate transfer of knowledge, provide professional development and educational opportunities, and encourage activities that will help society adapt to climate change and become more inclusive and sustainable.
