Elected Region 4 Governor

Vision statement
I am a Life Member of ASCE and have served in the WV Section and Huntington Branch leadership positions. I currently serve as a Region 4 Governor, the Practitioner Advisor for the Student Chapter at Marshall University and what seems like the perpetual treasurer for the Huntington Branch. Shortly after graduating from college I did not continue my membership since I did not recognize the benefits that I could have received from ASCE. My vision is to make sure we have a better awareness of what ASCE can do for each member.
During the last several years, even before the pandemic, the Society has been experiencing a decrease in the involvement from young members as well as older members. ASCE is not alone with this issue, as it is occurring with numerous organizations. To change this direction we must make a renewed effort to promote our benefits starting with the Student Chapters and then by reaching out to others in our profession. We must also work to reactivate our inactive members to take advantage of their experience. As a Regional Governor I will work diligently towards changing this trend.
