Region 8 Governor Official Nominee

Portrait of Michael E. Mathieu

Vision statement

My vision for ASCE, in particular Region 8, is to continue to grow the membership within Region 8, Nationally and Internationally; to continue to improve communication within Region 8 by sharing ideas and Best Practices; and to assist the struggling Sections and Branches within Region 8 as a result of COVID and its impact on their local meetings and regional meetings.

Within the ASCE Society as a whole, my vision is to foster ethical behavior amongst all Civil Engineers whether members of ASCE or not and to be the model Civil Engineer. To reinforce the concepts and practices of sustainable Civil Engineering design and to make the public aware that Civil Engineers have always practiced sustainable design. To assist the ASCE Board of Direction where possible with the current budget constraints while continuing to provide as much service to our members as possible. To continue to endorse excellence in the Civil Engineering education by guiding faculty members to the ExCEEd workshops.
