Elected Region 5 Governor

Vision statement
ASCE has a lot to offer its members, from technical institutes to volunteer student outreach opportunities to legislative input. The opportunities are overwhelming at times and often members do not know all of the services available to them. I have been involved with the ASCE Georgia Section for 15 years and on Society level committees since 2015. My goal is to continue to increase collaboration between the Student Chapters, Branches, Section, Region and Society. The Covid-19 pandemic made this more challenging, but also showed us that we can use virtual platforms to have frequent productive collaboration in addition to less frequent in-person events.
Because of ASCE, I have increased my leadership skills, gone on a humanitarian mission trip to Nicaragua, spoken to many students about civil engineering as a career, been interviewed by media on infrastructure issues, met with my elected officials and toured the Panama Canal locks under construction. I want members to know ASCE can do so much more for them than provide technical content and networking. ASCE provides meaningful volunteer opportunities and a voice for infrastructure investment. Time spent volunteering with ASCE helps the civil engineering profession and can broaden a member’s horizons in ways they never imagined.
