AEI Emerging Leaders Scholarship

Who are "Emerging Leaders"? Any professional in industry or academia, within the field of architectural engineering, who has entered the workforce within the past decade. The Emerging Leaders Council (ELC) hopes to encourage emerging professionals to have greater involvement within the AE community through service, education, and social engagement. 

The scholarship will consist of a voucher to attend the AEI Virtual Conference 2021.

Deadline for applications: March 12, 2021

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Emerging professionals with less than 10 years of experience in industry or academia
  • Graduate of an ABET accredited AE program
  • E.I., E.I.T., or P.E. required at time of application
  • Have demonstrated contributions to the AE field or a desire to pursue advanced technical competence within their field
  • Have an interest in participating in ELC or local community development activities

Application Submittals:

  • Resume
  • Personal narrative (1 page, 500 word max)  
    • Description of prior conference/professional involvement as a student and/or emerging professional
    • What do you hope to gain from attending the AEI conference? How do you plan to use this experience to further your career/technical competence?
    • What kind of activities or resources can the ELC provide to emerging leaders?
    • What can you bring to the ELC as a new member?
  • Following the conference, submit a description of your experience at the conference and how it has changed/expanded your views on the impact of emerging leaders on the AE field.

The scholarship is sponsored by the AEI Emerging Leaders Council, established to bring young AE professionals together to engage the next generation of AE leaders and to strengthen the AE industry.
