Engineers Without Borders USA share many goals and core values as each organization works toward making the world a better place. These commonalities resulted in the development of a long-standing relationship. This partnership has been formed to
collaborate on projects, programs, and initiatives that support their shared missions of making the world a better place and improving the practice of engineering. This partnership also has been formed in recognition of the powerful impact of standing together in the advancement of the public’s knowledge of how engineers improve the quality of life – one project and one community at a time.
Community Engineering Corps
The Community Engineering Corps (CECorps) was launched in February 2014 as an alliance between ASCE, EWB-SA and the American Water Works Association (AWWA). CECorps works collaboratively with communities to design solutions to problems that the community has identified. ASCE members have the opportunity to participate in the
CECorps program and contributing to those in need using engineering skills.
The United Nations Development Program estimates that there are approximately 10 disaster events per year in the Caribbean/Latin America and a total of 40 disaster events per year on a global scale. EWB-USA proactively prepares volunteers to deploy on rapid response teams. Disaster response and
community resilience align with ASCE's reputation for promoting infrastructure that is safe, resilient and sustainable. Volunteer through
EWB-USA's Volunteer Village portal.
