Task Committee On Statistical Applications In Hydrology

Purpose:

The main objective of the task committee is to review published literature and summarize the development of new concepts and statistical methods for application in hydrologic science and engineering. Specific areas to which statistics are applied include temperature, humidity, radiation, rainfall, evaporation, evapotranspiration, runoff, infiltration, ground water, low flows and droughts, high flows, erosion, sedimentation, and water quality. Chapters covering these technical areas will be assembled to create a monograph: Applications of Statistical Distributions in Hydrologic Sciences and Engineering. Example problems will be included as appropriate. The potential audiences for this publication are professional engineers, practicing scientists, consulting firms, Government and private agencies, municipal administrators, students, instructors, public and private libraries, and research institutes involved with design in the area of hydrologic sciences.
