Senior Associate Editor for the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering

The Computing Division of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) seeks applications for the role of Senior Associate Editor for the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering .  The Senior Associate Editor will work with the existing Editor and receive preference for being promoted to Co-Editor after a period of two to four years.  The ideal candidate will be a senior researcher (preferably at the rank of Professor) with an established record of scholarship and publication in computing in civil engineering.  Prior experience in editorial duties using an online review system is preferred as well as a willingness and ability to invest significant time managing the peer review process and a team of Associate and Specialty Editors.

 

The next Senior Associate Editor should have a vision for continuing the leadership and success of the Journal while working with the Editor to extend its reach to emerging areas of computing in civil engineering. As such, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated breadth of understanding of the field and international experience. The candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to mentor junior editors to help take on increasing responsibility for management of the Journal .

Review of applications will commence immediately thereafter by the Executive Committee of the Computing Division.  Appointment of the candidate will follow soon after.
