ASCE Construction Management Award
ASCE Construction Institute is inviting you to
nominate a deserving individual for the Construction Management Award.
This award may be given annually to an individual who has been a member of the Construction Institute or the American Society of Civil Engineers for at least 5 years and who has made outstanding contributions to the field of construction management as a practitioner, educator, or researcher either in the form of written presentations, scholarly work, or notable performance.
Previous Awardee Spotlight: Dr. Cliff Schexnayder
The most recent recipient of this prestigious award was Cliff Schexnayder, Ph.D., P.E., Dist.M.ASCE in 2020. Dr. Schexnayder is the Eminent Scholar Emeritus in the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University.
Throughout his very successful career, Dr. Schexnayder has significantly contributed to the field of construction management through his dedication to education, research, service, and mentoring. He has authored numerous books and articles, presented in conferences, served on countless committees, taught classes both in the US and other parts of the world, worked in the industry as a practitioner, and served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, all in support of construction.
He was inducted into the National Academy of Construction as a "powerful advocate for bringing industry experience into the classroom to create a bridge between theory and application of engineering knowledge." He has also been honored by ASCE with the Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Award- Education. He invests his time to promote construction as a profession to students of all levels.
