Scott Breneman is the Senior Technical Director of the Architectural and Engineering Solutions Team of WoodWorks. Scott has experience with structural design and peer review of projects varying from single-family homes to high-rise hospitals, the seismic rehabilitation of institutional buildings, and advanced analysis and technology development. At WoodWorks, he provides project support to architects, engineers and other professionals designing buildings, oversees the development of technical educational content and educates designers on effective use of wood framing systems.

Dr. Breneman is a member of ASCE and SEI, a past President of the Structural Engineers Association of Central California, a past Director of the Structural Engineers Association of California, and an Associate Member of the Seismic Subcommittee of ASCE 7-16 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures and a member of the ANSI/APA PRG 320 2017 update committee. He received bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Florida and a doctorate from Stanford University. His doctoral research entailed novel methods to reduce seismic damage to mid-rise and high-rise buildings.
