Timothy (Tim) L. Parker is a Civil Engineer that has worked in the rigging and heavy transportation industry since 1982. He is president of Parker Rigging Company, Inc., a rigging, crane rental, steel fabrication and erection company. He is also the co-owner of Southeastern Training and Inspection, LLC, a company that provides safety and craft training in rigging, crane operation, and welding, as well as equipment inspections, for the construction industry.

Tim is a member of the ASCE Construction Institute Crane Safety Committee. Since 2008, as Principal at Parker Consulting Engineers, LLC, Tim has specialized in rigging and heavy transportation engineering, mainly in the power generation sector. Tim has designed and managed projects worldwide that utilize heavy transport by ship, barge, rail, and truck, as well as heavy lifting with cranes and alternative lifting methods. Tim is an adjunct instructor for the School of Engineering at his alma mater, The Citadel, where he teaches in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Engineering Leadership and Program Management. He also serves as Practitioner Advisor for the ASCE Student Chapter at The Citadel.

Tim is a member of Specialized Carrier and Rigging Association (SC&RA), Structural Engineers Association (SEA), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and American Welding Society (AWS). Besides being a PE, Tim also holds a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. He also maintains his certification as a mobile crane operator and certified welder. Tim is licensed in South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina.
