The
Maurice A. Biot Lecture was established at Columbia University in 2004 in remembrance of the late Professor Maurice Anthony Biot and his renowned achievements as an engineer, physicist, and applied mathematician.
The Biot Lecture is given each fall at Columbia University and is a joint effort of the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics of Columbia University, the Engineering Mechanics Committee of the ASCE Met Section, and the Engineering Mechanics Institute of ASCE (EMI).
