Thursday, October 10, 2019
George Deodatis, Ph.D., F.EMI, M.ASCE
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as the President of EMI for the past two years. Upon the completion of my term, I am confident to report that EMI will be in the great hands of the incoming President, Pol D. Spanos, who has outstanding leadership credentials.
With the unparalleled dedication and hard work of the EMI Board of Governors, EMI Director, Amar Chaker, EMI Senior Manager, Verna Jameson, JEM's Editor, Roberto Ballarini, the EMI Technical Committees and our EMI Members from around the globe, EMI continues to grow its membership, expand conference scope and participation, and enhance our journal's impact and reputation. We have explored new and emerging research areas, extended our endeavors in engineering mechanics to universities, national laboratories, industry, and government agencies, and interacted with new disciplines. Looking ahead, I encourage you to continue your active participation in EMI to promote and demonstrate the excellence of Engineering Mechanics.
