New Faces of Civil Engineering Collegiate Edition
What does it take to become a
New Face, Collegiate Edition?
- A great story to tell that can be appreciated by non-engineers
- Undergraduate engineering student (3rd, 4th, 5th year) as of the current academic year. (Graduate and Ph.D. students should apply in the Professional Division below)
- Currently enrolled in a bachelors of science in engineering program from an
ABET Accredited (EAC) recognized U.S. college or university or from an equivalent international educational institution as of December 1, 2020.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Member of ASCE (free for students)
- Leadership in student organizations, community service, communication skills, academic excellence, involvement in the engineering industry
Honorees receive:
- Articles in school media, local news, and
ASCE media outlets beginning in January/February 2021.
- The opportunity to be selected as the top honoree and receive a $1000 scholarship

What does it take to become a
New Face, Professional Edition?
- A great story to tell that can be appreciated by non-engineers
- 30 years of age or younger as of December 31, 2020
- Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited U.S. college or university, or from an equivalent international educational institution
- Member of ASCE
- Leadership in organizations, community service, communication skills, involvement in the engineering industry
Honorees receive:
- Articles in the
Civil Engineering Source; hometown, local and national media outlets beginning in January/February 2021.
- Recognition at ASCE’s OPAL Gala
