The
W. Gene Corley Award
is given in recognition for efforts in advancing and distinguishing structural engineers as a profession, especially licensure for structural engineers.
The winner of the 2019 W. Gene Corley Award is Gregg E. Brandow, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., M.ASCE. Dr. Brandow is commended as deserving of this recognition for substantial efforts throughout his career to advance and distinguish the structural engineering profession. Through his service as Chair of the SEI Professional Activities Committee, Chair of the Structural Engineering Licensure Coalition, service on the California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and on the Board of the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveying (NCEES) to develop and gain acceptance for the 16-hour structural engineering exam. He has been a tireless advocate and leaders in support of SE licensure nationally, and has inspired the next generation in following in his footsteps.
