With the remarkable shift in the world-wide new normal, SEI has been hard at work to offer you more virtual ways to engage with the profession, connect with your colleagues, and learn new skills. This page will inform you of upcoming virtual events and opportunities and we invite you to join us! For questions please contact email@example.com.
This series is a new, 6-part sequence of education, virtual sessions designed to showcase the six, unique, about-to-be-published SEI Standards that govern the niche markets of electrical transmission and substation structures, nuclear facilities, athletic field lighting structures, wind tunnel testing, blast design, and cold-formed stainless steel design. In each 90-minute session SEI host and Senior Manager of Codes and Standards, Jennifer Goupil, P.E., F.SEI, M.ASCE, will examine the big-picture state of the market with the committee chair of the newly published standard and invited experts, as well as discuss reasons for the technical revisions. Additionally, the Standard's chair will present a brief but detailed technical overview of the provisions and demonstrate a relevant design example. Attendees are encouraged to join the discussion for the extensive live Q&A portion of the session.
These live sessions are designed for structural engineers at all levels, including students, to understand the big-picture and drivers of change in these unique markets. Contractors, regulators, owners, and project stakeholders will be very interested to learn about these updated and new governing documents, as well as the market impacts, directly from the experts developing the provisions.
Mark your calendars and join us for the whole series or for each session separately. Each session is LIVE and only available during the scheduled date and time - you will not want to miss this opportunity.

SEI is saddened by the cancellation of Structures Congress 2021. We were looking forward to seeing everyone in-person in Seattle. Times have changed and so we have shifted focus. June 2-4 we will host Structures Virtual 2021. This online event will consist of technical content and continued learning but with the focus on global community engagement. We are excited to see the structural engineering community from around the world come together to network, engage, and advance the profession - virtually!
This summer/fall SEI joined forces with SEI Past-President Glenn Bell and a esteemed group of guests to host a series of engaging discussions about career paths for every level of structural engineer: from where to begin to possibilities beyond principal.
