The Harland Bartholomew Award was established by the former Urban Planning and Development Division of the Society
(now the Transportation & Development Institute)
in recognition of the outstanding professional accomplishments of Harland Bartholomew, Hon.M.ASCE. It was instituted by the Board of Direction in 1968.
The award is made to the person who is judged worthy of special commendation for contributions to the enhancement of the role of the civil engineer in urban planning and development. The contribution may be in the form of a paper published by the Society or personal efforts and achievements toward that goal.
