Joseph Platt, Jr., P.E., M.ASCE

2020–2023 Region 2 Governor

Vision Statement

I am pursuing the position of Region 2 Governor to continue the growth and advancement of members of the Region; with particular focus on the growth of the student and younger members.

For ASCE to continue to thrive, it is imperative we continue to engage students and younger members very early in their careers to convey the benefits and values, both personally and to the Civil Engineering profession, they could achieve.

It has been my experience that the younger members often stimulate an energy and enthusiasm among a Section; and it is this energy and enthusiasm that drive successes from the other Section members.

Currently, the annual Multi-Region Leadership Conference is a forum where the idea exchanges, best practices and communications begin. If elected, I will endeavor to foster communications at the Society level beyond an MRLC and ensure that local Sections and their Younger Member Forums have the resources they may need to retain a strong and active group of members for years to come.
