Jennifer Sloan Ziegler, Ph.D., P.E., ENV SP, M.ASCE

2020–2023 Region 5 Governor

Vision Statement

As a Region 5 Governor, I would strive to support and further ASCE's mission and vision to develop future civil engineers who are global leaders building a better quality of life for all.

To achieve this, I would continue my work with student members as both a mentor and advocate. I would strive to strengthen their relationship to ASCE and the profession. I would set an example for them through my work as a Region Governor. Student transition into the professional workforce and ASCE is important for the future of our profession. I will work to find meaningful ways that will connect students and younger members to ASCE. Students and Younger Members are the future of our profession and it is important that we engage them. This will lead to increased membership, retention, and provide member value.

I have always believed that there is something for everyone in ASCE regardless of your interests or background. I've gained so much joy through my work with students and Younger Members that I would like to share my passion while focusing on ways to help others find their role in ASCE for the betterment of the Society, the profession, and the world around us.
