Tim C. Newton, P.E., M.ASCE

2020–2023 Region 6 Governor

Vision Statement

ASCE is the premier organization for civil engineers, globally. My vision for Region 6 is to strengthen the organization at all levels so that each member shares and appreciates the value of ASCE.

Assisting in stabilizing branches and chapters that are experiencing challenges is a start. Region 6 can focus on ways to provide more opportunities to serve our remote members. I currently manage the Region 6 Grant Program. It has been very gratifying seeing the successful events of our Branches and Sections utilizing these grants.

Additionally, strengthening relationships among chapters, branches, institutes, and sections can ensure better service to our members. Finding opportunities to increase public awareness and visibility has a two-fold advantage: elevating the stature of ASCE in the community and generating pride among the membership. Thus, we will share our pride as civil engineers in the projects we design and build for our communities. By promoting ASCE members and their projects to the public, Region 6 can elevate the organization and the field of civil engineering.

Region 6 is the link for gaining support for members from the highest levels within ASCE. As Region 6 Governor, I will work diligently to make this vision a reality.
