Letter from the President - January 2015
Winners of the LTPP Contest
Dear Fellow T&DI Members,
Welcome to the New Year! I trust this message finds you well.
The Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting was held in Washington, DC January 11-15. Many T&DI members were in attendance and were able to attend one of 13 technical committee meetings held during the week. Vice President Lenor Bromberg and I were able to attend all of the meetings and are encouraged by the input from those in attendance.
T&DI sponsors scholarship awards for the FHWA Long Term Pavement Performance International Data Analysis Contest. The awards were made by Executive Director, Muhammad Amer, M.ASCE and myself.
- This year's winner in the graduate category was: Changwei (Terry) Xu from the University of Cambridge with his paper "Analysis of Cracking in Jointed Plain Concrete Pavements".
- The winner in the partnership category was a team from the University of Rhode Island with their paper titled "Determining the Effect of Climate on Cracking and Roughness of Asphalt Pavement Using Infopave". Team members were Holly Faubert, Nelson Shepard, and Patricia Hogan.
Congratulations to these students and best wishes in their future endeavors.
