T&DI Announces Wayne Seiler as the Winner of Airfield Pavement Practitioner Award

Dr. Wayne Seiler, Ph.D, P.E., M.ASCE, Principal Engineer with API, was announced as the winner of the Airfield Pavement Practitioner Award. This award was established in 2009 to honor and recognize practicing engineers employed in the airfield pavement engineering profession with demonstrated leadership and/or achievement in airfield pavement projects.
Dr. Seiler obtained his BSCE from the U.S. Air Force Academy (1975-1979) and Masters and Doctoral degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois (1988-1990). He has 33 years of professional experience in airport pavement engineering, including 13 years as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. Dr. Seiler's responsibilities include airport, highway, and port pavement engineering and construction projects. He is currently performing pavement evaluation and design work for several commercial hub airports and recently completed pavement design projects with AECOM LAX, Oakland, and Honolulu International Airports. Dr. Seiler Member is a member of the FAA Pavement Working Group Committee and Airport Consultant's Council, and is the Past Chair of the ASCE-T&DI Airfield Pavement Committee.
Prior to joining API, Dr. Seiler was employed with Applied Research Associates (ARA) where he was responsible for airport and highway pavement evaluation, design, management, and software development. Dr. Seiler managed the development of DSS for Airports and RoadCare, a state-of-the-art highway pavement management software system that helps agencies better maintain their pavement infrastructure.
