Tariq Usman Saeed was awarded the
2018-19 ASCE Jack E. Leisch Fellowship
on October 2, 2018 at Purdue University. The Fellowship is for a graduate student in civil engineering with a focus on highway geometric design, traffic engineering, traffic safety and transportation planning. Joel P. Leisch, F.ASCE, a Purdue BSCE'64 graduate and son of Jack E. Leisch, made the award at Purdue.
Tariq's professor, Dr. Samuel Labi, M.ASCE, is guiding him through his research focusing on
identifying highway infrastructure needs and roadway design features for Autonomous Vehicle operation.
Tariq anticipates completing his research and receiving his Ph.D. in June 2019.

SeyedAli (Ali) Ghahari was second in the competition for the Fellowship. Ali is also a Ph.D. student at Purdue University completing his research in 2020 on
finding and assessing the instances of corruption and inefficiencies in infrastructure projects.
