The East Central Branch (ECB) of the Florida Section was founded in 1958 and includes members from Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia Counties in Florida. The East Central Branch is one of the most active in the ASCE Florida Section and the nation. The Branch has many active technical groups, regular outreach & service opportunities, annual networking & social events and numerous opportunities for professional development.

Mark W. Ellard, PE, CFM, D.WRE , the President of the ASCE East Central Florida Branch stated:

"The East Central Florida Branch is excited to bring UESI to our members.  With the ever increasing development and investment in infrastructure in our area, collaboration between utility and surveying professionals is critical.  Bringing these individuals together and in collaboration with our other institutes - EWRI, T&DI, SI, GI, and CI, will bring a high level of benefit to local ASCE members and the central Florida engineering community as a whole."

Alec Grkovic, L.S., M.ASCE , the President of the UESI East Central Florida Chapter remarked:

"I would like to thank you for your support with starting the ASCE Central Florida Branch UESI.  I am excited to take a leadership role in the new UESI chapter and make a positive contribution in creating and promoting utility infrastructure, engineering surveying and geomatics best practices."

The East Central Branch has local chapters for the Environmental & Water Resources Institute, Geo Institute, Structural Engineering Institute, Transportation & Development Institute, the Education Committee, Younger Member Forum and Student Chapters.

The Branch will host its Annual Officer Installation Luncheon on September 9 and the ECFB Annual Golf Tournament  on September 16.
