Friday, September 22, 2017
The Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute is pleased to announce that the ASCE Board of Direction has voted to give the Institute permanent status. The decision was finalized at the Board's July 28-29 meetings in Baltimore. UESI has been operating under provisional status since July 2015. In that two-year span, UESI membership has grown to nearly 3,000 members. The Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute is the American Society of Civil Engineers' ninth institute. In addition to strong membership growth, other UESI strengths include the annual Pipelines Conference, a strong Manual of Practice development program, and surveying/geomatics activities. UESI is made up of five divisions; Pipeline, Surveying & Geomatics, Utility Infrastructure Asset Management, Utility Risk Management, and Standards.
