WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has been recognized as a Power of Associations Gold Award by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its successful launch of the 2025 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, the most frequently-cited infrastructure report in the nation.

Since 1998, ASCE has issued a quadrennial assessment of the United States’ infrastructure networks, from roads and bridges to water infrastructure and the electric grid, known as the Report Card for America’s Infrastructure. The 2025 report assigned our nation’s infrastructure a cumulative grade of “C”, the highest grade ever assigned to the U.S. since the program began. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the Inflation Reduction Act, and state-driven programs have helped push the grade forward. The report has been mentioned in more than 15,000 original stories since its launch, ranging from the largest news organizations in the world to trade publications and local outlets.

“Congratulations to ASCE for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative.”

“Thank you, ASAE, for recognizing ASCE’s efforts to broaden public awareness of the current state and projected outlook of America’s infrastructure systems through the Report Card series,” said Tom Smith, ASCE Executive Director. “The nation’s infrastructure is the backbone of our economy, public safety and welfare. Our report strives to shed light on a broad range of factors contributing to current and projected performance, while highlighting solutions that can raise the grades. We are happy to see the impact this series is having and hope it can continue to drive change in the industry.”
