Dr. Qiuchen Lu is an Associate Professor at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London (UCL), UK. Her research supports the transition to a sustainable, smart, and resilient (3S) built environment through digital technologies - especially digital twins - to address the challenges of climate change. Her work integrates automation and AI-driven digitisation in asset management, advances interdisciplinary innovation for climate resilience, and emphasizes real-world applications through collaboration with industry and government. Dr. Lu received the prestigious RAEng/Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship for her work on dynamic, people-centric digital twins for flood-disrupted road networks. She also leads research on urban digital twin systems for disaster response, recognized by the UNDRR’s IRDR Young Scientist Scheme. Her contributions have earned her several national and international awards, including the Charles Manby Prize (ICE), the UK Digital Innovator Merit Award, the Digital Women to Watch Award, and honors from BuildingSMART China and the Smart City Expo World Congress.
