Ronald O. Hamburger, P.E., F.SEI, M.ASCE, Consulting Principal of Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, Inc., has been a leader in the development of performance-based seismic design procedures since the 1990s. He has served as a member of the ASCE 41 Committee and chaired the ASCE 7 Committee from 2010 to 2022. Mr. Hamburger is also an author of the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center's Guidelines for Performance-Based Seismic Design of Tall Buildings and the ASCE pre-standard for Performance-Based Wind Design of Buildings.
