What you’re looking at is a product more than two years in the making.

This is the new ASCE.org, created to be more responsive to what you’re seeking, be it a new job, skills to make you more proficient at your current one, or to get to know your professional peers better.

“It’s all about the user,” said Executive Director Tom Smith. “Our new website is part of an overarching digital strategy for the Society, designed to be more useful and responsive to the needs of our members.”

The enhancements fall under these broad areas:

Personalization: Along with a personalized home page, the site’s single sign-in feature allows members to be logged in to the ASCE Library, myLearning, and ASCE Collaborate. Once logged in, members will have easy access to their account number, account management, purchase history, and institute membership. The homepage will include other institute-specific content.

Informative: The regularly updated Civil Engineering Source and Civil Engineering magazine are fully integrated with the website. Most articles invite reader reaction via the Disqus commenting system.

Ease of use: Responsive design, with an improved experience across devices from laptops to smartphones. Improved navigation. The site search uses artificial intelligence and taxonomy to deliver relevant results that grow more accurate with each use. An improved group finder displays local affiliations, including student chapters. And the site meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 AA standards for usability.
