The civil and environmental engineering profession will play a major role formulating societies’ response to the increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and its effect on climate. Necessary actions include de-carbonization, sequestration, and adaptation.

The National Academy of Engineering Section 4 is hosting a virtual public symposium for civil and environmental engineers, 3-5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4, to discuss these potential actions and strategies.

The symposium is free and open to the public, though registration is required to obtain the Zoom link.
