Region 6 Governor Official Nominee
Vision statement
My vision for ASCE Region 6 is strengthening and expansion of connections between our vast region by emphasizing community ties through shared knowledge and activism.
My connection to ASCE began with a friend’s invitation in college to help build a concrete canoe. That weekend led to a degree change, my current career, lifelong friendships, and a deep appreciation for our shared community. As civil engineers we design and build infrastructure which affects all aspects of our daily lives, but we did not arrive here on our own. Rather, we build upon the body of work from those that came before us and towards a future for those that will live long after us. Linking the past and future is achievable by sharing stories, as well as learning from each other along the way.
As Governor, my focus will be on opening lines of communication, fostering relationships, and sharing knowledge between Student Chapters, Local Branches, Sections, Institutes, and Society. By forming lasting connections, while sharing key lessons learned between distinct generations and regions, we can grow towards a brighter future together – better serving overall public interest found at the heart of our engineering principles.
