Region 9 Governor Official Nominee

 

Vision statement

Early in my career, I took a hiatus from civil engineering to work for a non-profit because I wanted to mentor and directly impact the next generations. But once I returned, I quickly realized that I could do that and more through ASCE. Since getting involved, I’ve had the privilege of serving in leadership on a YMF, branch, and society level, each opportunity opening the door to the next one. As the LA Section Governor, I will partner with our local and larger ASCE communities to increase impact by focusing on three words: CONNECT, EQUIP, and ENGAGE.

I will CONNECT with all branches, YMFs, student chapters, and institutes to introduce myself, get context, and understand their needs. I will utilize my experience, combined with ASCE resources and network, to EQUIP our LA Section groups to carry out their vision and goals. Lastly, I will work with our section to ENGAGE more members in taking on leadership roles and encourage them to invite their peers who are not yet members. I will weave these three words throughout my term to foster an inclusive and collaborative community that advocates for public infrastructure that is resilient, sustainable, and equitable.
