Lenor Bromberg is a seasoned civil engineer with over three decades of experience spanning state, county, and city government, as well as private consulting. She currently serves as Deputy Commissioner of Engineering for the City of Atlanta’s Department of Transportation, where she is part of the leadership team delivering infrastructure planning, design, and construction management for one of the nation’s most dynamic urban environments.
A proud Georgia Tech alumna, Bromberg earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1996 and holds a professional engineering license in Georgia. Her expertise encompasses transportation systems, land development, environmental documentation, public engagement, and strategic planning. She is widely recognized for her leadership in quality control, value engineering, and policy development.
Bromberg is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and has held numerous influential roles within the organization, including President of the Transportation & Development Institute, Chair of the Committee on Technical Advancement, and Chair of the Government Engineers Council. She now serves on the ASCE Board of Direction as Technical Society Director.
Her career includes leadership positions with the City of Roswell, GA, Kennedy Engineering & Associates Group, and Seminole County, FL, among others. Bromberg’s contributions have earned her accolades such as ASCE Georgia Section Engineer of the Year (2018), Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE) Engineer of the Year in Government (2019), and recognition as one of Engineering Georgia’s Top 100 Influential Women in Engineering (2020, 2024, and 2025).
Beyond her technical achievements, Bromberg is a passionate advocate for professional development and community engagement. She has served on alumni boards, participated in leadership programs, and presented at national conferences on sustainability, transportation, and public agency careers. Her enduring commitment to excellence continues to shape the future of civil engineering across Georgia and beyond.
