CEC and ACOPNE Endorse Certificate Programs and Special Discount Offer
On March 23, 2026, CEC and the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Coastal Zone Foundation (CZF) to advance professional practice standards in coastal engineering. Under the agreement, ACOPNE will recognize CZF’s Coastal Engineering Certificate (CPP) program for up to 2.5 hours of postgraduate education toward certification requirements for the Board-Certified Coastal Engineer or Board-Certified Navigation Engineer credentials. ACOPNE and CZF will collaborate to expand the number of board-certified coastal and navigation engineers and CPP certificate holders.
The ACOPNE also approved to endorse the ASCE-COPRI’s Port Engineer certificate program to count toward the educational requirements for the Board-Certified Port Engineer (BC.PE) certification. The ACOPNE will recognize up to 30 postgraduate education credit hours toward requirements for the BC.PE credential.

CEC-UESCB Session at Pipelines
CEC and the Utility Engineering and Surveying Certification Board (UESCB) are hosting a special session on the new UESCB certifications at the UESI 2026 Pipelines Conference! Join us!
This special session will cover the benefits of the Board-Certified Pipeline Engineer-Water (BC.PLW) and the new Board-Certified Project Utility Engineer (BC.PUE) and Civil Engineer, Certified (CE-C) certification credentials.
Attendees will gain insight into:

- The collaborative roles of UESI, UESCB, and CEC in credential development.

CEC and USACE Global Partnership
CEC and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have signed a global agreement covering all CEC board certifications. This partnership focuses on technical excellence and collaboration in education, policy, and workforce development, aiming to certify 5,000 new engineers over the next 20 years to meet critical infrastructure needs.
USACE will also cover certification fees for its engineers, highlighting the importance of board certification. The organizations will explore further collaboration on new products, services, and educational opportunities.
“USACE is proud to formalize this partnership with CEC,” said Pete G. Perez, P.E., SES, USACE Chief of Engineering and Construction. “Together, we will empower our engineering workforce and strengthen our commitment to excellence.”
