Younger Member Leadership Symposium (YMLS)

The ASCE Younger Member Leadership Symposium (YMLS) is a three-day experiential leadership workshop. It is open to all ASCE Younger Members, aged 35 and under.

The symposium focuses on early-career professional skills development to help ASCE Younger Members succeed and lead in the workplace. It includes tours and special events during the weekend, offering additional networking opportunities with peers from around the country.

Programming is produced and presented by Younger Members, for Younger Members to provide learning opportunities for both the facilitators and the participants.  Peer-to-peer networking and learning promotes openness and personal growth as Younger Members come together in a space characterized by shared values.  Freedom to learn and take risks outside the concern of being evaluated by co-workers and supervisors is a hallmark of the shared enjoyment of participants.

YMLS Alumni Summit

The ASCE Younger Member Leadership Symposium (YMLS) Alumni Summit is an advanced leadership and professional -skills training workshop exclusively offered to ASCE Younger Members who have attended at least one in-person YMLS event before. This weekend will include both networking and social opportunities as well as advanced training on topics such as personal development, leadership in the workplace, and people/project management.

Programming takes a deeper dive into leadership topics such as personal development, leadership in the workplace, and people/project management.  Intended to build on basic concepts covered in the YMLS and the relationships established there, this programming features an experienced facilitator and further develops the alumni network of YMLS participants.
