Denise Nelson is a Civil Environmental Engineer, Certified Floodplain Manager, Envision Sustainability Professional, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, and an active, 20+ year member of ASCE. She is also qualified as an ISI‐approved Envision trainer and an Envision verifier. She has 15 years' experience in facilities planning, engineering design, hydraulics, hydrology, and computer modeling related to water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure and sustainable development. Her experience includes service with large and small firms in the US and New Zealand, and she is currently an Environmental Engineer at The Berkley Group providing sustainable infrastructure consulting and implementing Envision to improve and recognize infrastructure projects and programs.

Mrs. Nelson is active on sustainability committees for the American Society of Civil Engineers and local chapters of the American Public Works Association, the Water Environment Federation, and the American Water Works Association.

She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and her Masters of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
