Dennis W. Webb retired in January 2017 after a 34-year career with the USACE. He spent nearly 30 years with the Corps Ship/Tow simulator located in Vicksburg, MS. For over 20 years, he was the simulator's technical lead and the USACE's subject matter expert on ship/tow simulation. During that time, he served as principal investigator (PI) on over 60 navigation studies for both deep- and shallow-draft projects. He also provided USACE oversight for numerous simulator studies conducted at non-USACE facilities.

Since his retirement, he has operated Webb Simulation Consulting, LLC. He has consulted on simulator studies for the ports of Norfolk, VA; Coos Bay, OR; Houston, TX; Port Canaveral, FL; Seattle, WA; San Juan, PR; Wilmington, NC, and Mobile, AL. He frequently preforms these duties as a sub-contractor to the consulting firm of David Miller and Associates. He is presently serving as U.S. Principal Representative to PIANC WG 171 "Ship Handling Simulation Dedicated to Channel and Harbour Design".

He is a Certified Diplomate Navigation Engineering by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
